General Neurology ward
All neurologic patients are treated here, except those that need monitoring of vital signs. Specific diagnostics are carried out according to the respective symptoms. An individual treatment plan is drawn up for each patient.
Research
The Department of Neurology and Pain Therapy works in basic science and clinical studies to improve our understanding of the disease mechanisms, diagnostics and therapy of neurological diseases.
Pain Center
The Department of Neurology and Pain Treatment is specialized in interdisciplinary and multimodal care of patients with chronic pain. Apart from all other areas of pain treatment, the focus includes pain in disorders of the nervous system as well as opiate overuse.
Functional Diagnostics
All established neurological assessments are available in the Department, including EEG, nerve conduction tests, evoked potentials, vascular ultrasound of the brain, tissue ultrasound of the peripheral nervous system and skeletal muscle, and endoscopic swallowing diagnostics.
Day clinic
In the day clinic, diagnostic procedures and treatments that otherwise would require several visits to a specialist or inpatient care, can be carried out efficiently, often within a single day.
Specialized University outpatient clinics
At the Department of Neurology and Pain Treatment, we offer University outpatient clinics for a range of neurologic and pain disorders. These clinics provide access to highest standards of care for optimal diagnostics and treatment.
Multiple Sclerosis Centre
The Multiple Sclerosis Center is a center of excellence that spearheads the care for MS in the region. The center provides diagnostic procedures and state-of-the art care for patients with inflammatory diseases of the CNS.
Stroke Unit
The Stroke Unit is a ward designed to monitor patients who suffer from a stroke. Treatment of during the acute phase of the disease is provided here. As best medical care, key procedures include the assessment of the disease cause and early prevention of recurrence.
